Frequently asked questions about IoT projects

What does an IoT pilot cost?

Pure sensor solution with app connectivity 10-25 k CHF Development. Full product with housing design, firmware, app, and cloud backend: 0-120k CHF, depending on quantity and certification needs. Exact estimate provided in briefing.

Do you only develop software or also real hardware?

Both. We’ve developed our own products with 3D-printed and CNC-milled enclosures, designed custom circuit boards, and written firmware in C/C++ directly for ATMEGA328P, ESP8266, and ESP32. For GrowDoser, we built the entire stack ourselves, from SolidWorks enclosure CAD to the Android app.

What about mobile network coverage?

We have SIM800L modules in productive use (GrowDoser uses them for autonomous locations without Wi-Fi). LoRa and Wi-Fi are also standard options. For industrial customers, we offer wired solutions via Ethernet/Modbus.

Where are the data stored? With you, in the cloud, or with me?

By default on a server of your choice. Optionally encrypted to our Swiss hosting or fully on-premises. We only use US cloud providers if you explicitly request it, usually not for IoT data due to GDPR.

Who manufactures the hardware in quantities?

We print/mill prototypes on-site in Widnau (Rheintal). For series production, we have partners across Switzerland, Vorarlberg, and southern Germany; we coordinate manufacturing, BOM management, and quality control for you.
